Patagonia's first sleeping bags!

45 years in the making.

Patagonia is renowned for making quality out kit for the toughest conditions. They have a vast amount of experience in the use of down insulation in their garments, combined with expertise in materials, design, construction, and field-testing. As a result, Patagonia's down products are amongst the most trusted by outdoor professionals and enthusiasts. But somewhat surprisingly, they've never made a sleeping bag.

Until now.

45 years ago Yvon Chouinard — rock climber, environmentalist, surfer, kayaker, and founder of Patagonia — built for himself a simple mummy-style bag with overstuffed channels and a centre-front zipper that let him tie in at belays or cook at bivys. The new 850 Down Sleeping Bag takes its inspiration from this original creation and brings it up to 21st Century standards with the use of best available materials and a down-construction expertise that’s been 45 years in the making.

The two versions of the 850 Down Sleeping Bag will be available to purchase in the UK from March 22nd via
