Magellan Triton 500

A lovely robust, compact unit that has a small but very clear colour screen. The menus are easy enough to use, but are specific to the page you are viewing, so it’s not always obvious where to look for things, eg the Set-up menu is only accessible from the Map page, via the View option. PC compatibility is okay, although routes drawn on Memory-Map then need to be imported into some proprietary software before they can be downloaded to the unit. In action the compass page is easy to follow and the optional Topo mapping is clear and easy to follow, if not as detailed as Ordnance Survey mapping. A lot of money for what it is.
