Sealskinz Performance Activity Glove (2013)

Sealskinz are well known for their range of waterproof socks and gloves, which provide close fitting waterproof and breathable protection. The Performance Activity Glove has a nylon outer with a leather palm and is insulated with Primaloft. The glove offers more dexterity than many other gloves, making it much better than most for operating zips or a compass for example. The glove has elastication at the wrist and a short cuff with a Velcro closure. This cuff is neat enough to fit inside a jacket sleeve easily, but you could not wear it over a jacket and it is also slightly more restrictive than others when you put it on with wet hands, so I would certainly prefer this area to be more stretchy to make easier to get these on with cold, wet and numb fingers. I also found I could not fit the cuff around my big watch, so I had a gap between my watch and the glove which was exposed. There is no wrist leash, but you do get a grip patch on the forefinger and a nose wipe. In terms of dexterity this glove is excellent but its minimalist design has a number of drawbacks, while its general level of insulation is slightly less than some other options, so overall it is not ideal for colder mountain conditions.

Outer Nylon, leather palm
Waterproof lining SealSkinz membrane
Insulation Primaloft One
Mens Sizes S-XXL
Womens Sizes no
Removable liner No
Nose wipe yes
Wrist leash no
Weight 168g

Its dexterity is excellent but it’s not the warmest option and it does not offer the best wrist cuff design, so best suited to milder conditions when its drawbacks are going to have less impact on your comfort.
