This general-purpose waterproof jacket is very comfortable to wear, thanks to the two-layer fabric combined with a mesh lining. The fabric is the new Performance Shell version of Gore-Tex, so you get good waterproofness and reasonable breathability. The front zip gets a double stormflap to keep the rain out. The two main pockets are mesh-lined to allow airflow, and you also get pit zips for even more condensation control. The pockets are massive and there is also a dedicated chest map pocket. The hood is a rollaway design with an excellent peak and movement. The body length is reasonable and the sleeve movement is good too. Lots of positive features here for hill-walkers But those main pockets are easily obscured while wearing a rucksack, and that is really annoying when hill-walking. The rest of the features almost save this jacket particularly at the price, but others are definitely better.
