Regatta Marella
This waterproof jacket from Regatta is heavy, and quite long in the body, which will suit some more than others, but the arms are just a bit too long. The Isotex fabric is a little stiff to walk in comfortably and the collar, although nice and high, is also too stiff to feel really comfy. In its favour, the hood is a good size. In a storm the Marella is absolutely bombproof. It’s quite a warm jacket, but the pit zips help keep you cool. It also comes with a useful combination of pockets, including a huge one inside that will easily swallow an OS map. The hood also has an excellent wired peak.
Verdict: A tough, heavy-duty waterproof that keeps the rain out well. Not a great fit though and the fabric is on the heavy side, making it better suited to less energetic walking.
