Two jackets for the price of one with this – a shell jacket outer and a removable insulated liner. The removable liner makes it a good bet for casual walks on colder days, when you don’t want to be weighed down by a lot of kit. In use the jacket is fine for general walking use, albeit pretty warm when walking hard with the insulating layer in place. It’s also quite bulky and heavy with the insulation in place. Without the insulating layer, the jacket can be a little baggy as well. The hood is removable and as such isn’t the most rugged thing to keep the rain off, misshaping quite a bit when pulled tight. It does have adjustment, though. The waist pockets are in the way of a pack strap, but there are a couple of extra chest pockets that sit firmly out of the way.
