OMM Kamleika Race 2009

Designed specifically for adventure racing events, the OMM Kamleika Race jacket is a no-frills design. The weight and packed size allow it to be easily squashed under the bungee cord of a rucksack. The fabric is stretchy so it fits more athletic bods better than we more averagely shaped types! The style is short but it allows good movement due to the stretch and the cut of the sleeves, so it offers good protection when running, climbing or while bent forward over bike handlebars. The pockets are sealed so that any water entering them does not get the wearer wet. These pockets are also high on the chest so they can be easily accessed while wearing a rucksack. The hood can be rolled down and secured at the collar, which is ideal for running and biking. There’s also reflective trim for night-time biking, running or orienteering events. But the pockets of the OMM Kamleika Race are a little smaller than others and they are not mesh-lined, so they don’t add to venting when running for example (the activity for which this jacket is designed). The hood movement could be a little better, but it is tolerable. There are lighter jackets out there, while spending more would bring better condensation control.
