Marmot Exum

If you can ignore the price, then this is a great lightweight waterproof jacket. The weight is 382g (women’s size S) and that is down to the use Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric plus a simple design. The fabric offers extremely high levels of waterproofness and breathability, but you also get series of small holes in the pocket lining to reduce weight and improve venting a little. Those two pockets are situated on the chest and are good for gear as well as hands. You also get pit zips to aid ventilation. The hood is particularly good, having a wired peak, volume adjuster and drawcords that combine to provide excellent movement and fit. You get a stormflap over the front zip too to keep the worst of the rain out. A great jacket in terms of features and design. But the price kills any chance of this being a recommended product as you can get virtually the same jacket from other brands with £70 in change! Get it at a knockdown price and it is excellent though. The pockets are also a bit small for an OS map, but that might just be the women’s size we looked at.
