Keela jackets feature a unique fabric system that keeps you drier than many conventional materials. The trick is the lining that wicks sweat away, while the outer keeps the rain off. This fabric combination can be a little heavy, but on this general-purpose jacket Keela has got it down to a respectable 600g. The jacket is quite long too, and has a double stormflap over the main zip and a pair of large chest pockets. The hood is particularly good, with a wired peak, great fit and excellent movement with the head. Better still the hem or cuffs don’t ride up when stretching up during scrambles. This is a great price for a very practical jacket that would be ideal for many walkers and scramblers. But the Napoleon style pockets will not be liked by everyone, including me, as they do not allow easy handwarming. If the pockets were made in the more conventional way this would be a superb jacket. Other jackets are lighter and some have extra pockets too.
