A 2-layer Gore-Tex jacket suited to lower level walking. The less technical styling does mean that you won’t look like a lost mountain guide when out walking the dog. The face fabric is pleasantly soft and isn’t too noisy. There aren’t any vents to draw away the heat, and so it does tend to be warmer than most. The face fabric isn’t particularly heavyweight, although it does have a Ripstop construction that helps prevent any tearing. The hood isn’t great and operates more like an emergency cover, rolling away into the collar when not required. It does have three toggle adjusters to get the fit right, but even when cinched right down the fit around the face isn’t great and rain can easily penetrate – especially with the low collar.
