Craghoppers Napier

These waterproof overtrousers feel quite tough and durable, and they are a reasonable weight too. There’s a choice of leg lengths, which many people will appreciate. They are made from Craghoppers’ own breathable and waterproof fabric. The 45cm long side zip is enough to allow them to fit over boots, and the zip gets an external stormflap to keep the rain out. Slit access points around the hips allow easy access to your normal trouser pockets. The waist is elasticated with drawcords and you get a zipped fly too, which all helps when putting these on. A great price for good trousers that many will find perfectly adequate. But it is possible rain may enter via the slit pockets that allow access to undergarments, and I suspect most hill-walkers won’t need such access and would prefer a drier solution. Some trousers are lighter than these, while others have a more articulated and closer fit. Also, there is no women’s version.
