Royal Robbins makes a wide range of travel clothing and much of it is extremely practical, but more significantly some of the range extends into sizes not catered for by other brands. Their Zip N Go Pants go from size 6 to 22 for women for example! The fabric is quick-drying nylon like most others here. But you also get some very practical features. To allow the lower legs to be removed over boots there is a Velcro gusset. There is also ankle cuff adjustment. The most unusual feature is that the lower legs have hidden pockets so the zip-off legs can be stashed in a stuffsack and attached to the waist to prevent losing them. More importantly the waist area has a belt, elastication and a crotch gusset to improve the fit. Pocketing is good too with two seat pockets, two cavernous hip pockets and two map-width leg pockets. But the leg pockets of the Royal Robbins Zip N Go Pants are very shallow compared to others, which is a little annoying. Having a stuffsack pocket built into the lower leg makes this area unnecessarily bulky in my view and I would remove it if I purchased these trousers. There is no stretch material here either, but that is a drawback of many trousers.

The Royal Robbins Zip N Go Pants have some unusual features but lots of benefits too, which make them a good option.
