These walking trousers are excellent all-rounders that manage to hold a tight line between being practical and looking overly technical. The fabric is nylon, but due to the dot-matrix weave it looks almost like cotton. The fabric doesn’t cling, it is water-resistant and fast-drying, but above all it is not rustly. The trouser is cut to be practical with articulated knees, some ankle adjustment and a plain waist with belt loops. The two hip pockets are ideal for maps, while a hidden zip pocket is ideal for keys or cash. You get a well-positioned zipped leg pocket, and there are also two zipped seat pockets. These are very comfortable trousers that are ideal for general walking and backpacking and yet not so technical that they look out of place in a pub. But the fabric is not a stretch material and there is not a diamond crotch panel, so these are not quite as good as some in terms of freedom of movement. As the waist is not elasticated you may have to wear a belt at times (not provided).
