These walking trousers use a four-way stretch fabric that is ideal for hill-walking as it allows lots of freedom of movement. It is also very durable, sheds water well and dries fast too. To improve comfort around the waist while wearing a rucksack you get a very comfortable chamois-lined seamless waist that is superb. There are belt loops that make use of welding technology to once more reduce the bulk of fabric under rucksack hipbelts. There are two hip pockets that are map-sized as well as a zipped leg and seat pocket. The knees are articulated and the inside leg seam is positioned to reduce chafing while a very spacious crotch allows plenty of freedom of movement. The ankle cuff is adjustable with a hidden drawcord. These are very practical hill trousers that also won’t offend in a more relaxed urban environment. But they are not overly cool as the fabric is a little rustly and shiny when new. The zipped pocket is poorly placed just above knee and would benefit from being a little higher on the leg. But not a lot wrong though if you don’t mind the material.
