Vaude Power Tokee Ultralight 2011

The Power Tokee Ultralight takes the successful format of Vaude’s Power Lizard two-person tent and tapers it down to a one-person package. It pitches as one, and goes up quickly, with the main pole being easily attached via external clips. Both ends of the tent are fitted with rods, which give stability and extra internal height. There are guy points at the ends and also at the centre, plus enough peg points to make a secure pitch. There’s venting at both ends for airflow through the inside, and there’s also a good living space and reasonable height. The Power Frame System allows tensioning of the main pole from inside the tent, which is useful and effective when the weather shifts in the early hours. The Vaude Power Tokee Ultralight is the second lightest in our test by a small margin and packs down very small. It comes with a pole repair kit, and the quality of construction is excellent.
But while the Vaude Power Tokee Ultralight’s porch is long it’s not as wide as some, so gear storage and cooking can be a bit faffy at times. Like any lightweight single-pole design you can feel a little extra movement inside in the wind.

The Vaude Power Tokee Ultralight is a great lightweight one-person tent that offers high quality and great design. Only the small porch kept it off the top spot in this test.
