This colossal pack swallows anything: jacket after fleece after drybag went flying in with no problem, even before we’d expanded the extra side storage areas and shoved in two more jackets. The lid pocket is equally cavernous. Yet while it feels like a sack in the loading, when worn it disperses the weight with ease and feels incredibly secure and comfy. The load is slightly pushed away but this doesn’t affect balance. Downsides are the lack of open storage pockets or hip-belt pockets and the fiddly lid-closure: it takes two cords to seal it, and then the front flap has to be connected to the bag’s main aperture before you can clip the straps in. But if you want to carry an enormous load in complete comfort, look no further.
