A great-looking, slimline pack with robust face fabric, devoted to moving light and fast rather than with all mod cons. There’s no rain cover, for one thing. Nothing is chunky here; the shoulder straps are narrow with very minimal padding, and the attachment and compression straps are also slim and lightweight, as are the clips which connect them. It sits quite low on the back but the long hip-fins embrace your lower torso firmly to take the weight. The guide to mountain distress signals printed in the lid is a nice touch, as are the large pannier pockets on the fins, and the front flap easily takes an OS map or a lightweight jacket. The mesh back system is effective but doesn’t vent as well as a suspended system.
