The Gregory Miwok 22 is designed for fast light hiking, running and biking, so it hugs the back closer than more generic walking sacks –and that is what sets it apart from the also-rans. The back system incorporates some tendon-like webbing straps that connect the shoulder straps and waistbelt to the rucksack, and it is this that provides the stable, body-hugging fit of this pack. Another unique feature is a long side zip that gives access to the hydration bladder area without you needing to remove gear or open the top of the pack. The main body of the Gregory Miwok 22 is fairly conventional with a ziparound main entry and a couple of pockets plus compression straps, although its capacity is smaller than other 22 litre sacks. However stability is particularly good thanks to a zip baffle on the sides of the front stash pocket, meaning you have flexibility and stability in how the load is stashed. There are also a pair of drawcords on the sides of the sack that link to an internal compression system, which again adds to the stability of the load – a factor that is so important when moving fast.
