Technicals Latitude

This is a good, low-priced basic duvet providing the core features and performance that most walkers will require in the UK hills. So you get a weight of 718g, which is not exceptionally light, but acceptable for general use. Insulation is provided by quality down built into a shell of Nanosphere fabric, which claims to resist getting grimy better than other fabrics. The jacket packs into its own pocket and there are two hip pockets plus an internal chest pocket. Elasticated cuffs complete the feature list. The main advantage here is the price. The warmth is ideal for general winter use. So this all adds up to a duvet jacket that most walkers will be perfectly happy with in the mountains. But this is a no-frills design, so there is no hood for the coldest of nights. Other garments are warmer and lighter too. Some also have slightly better movement in the sleeves. But these are all minor niggles rather than major drawbacks to those on a tight budget.
