The first thing to say about this insulated jacket is you’ll be amazed at how small it packs down into its stuffsack, considering how ample it feels on. After that, you can start to appreciate the rest of this well-thought-out jacket. All the necessary features are there, such as drawcord adjustment for both the hem and collar plus zips on all the external pockets. The collar and sleeve cuffs are lined for extra comfort on those cold days, while the outer fabric feels durable and capable of providing superior protection from the elements. To top it off, there’s a women’s-specific option with good length and a cut that is fitted, but not ridiculously so. But it feels bulkier on compared to many of the finalists featured here, especially those jackets using Primaloft and Pertex Quantum combinations. You would probably not use this as a ‘layering’ insulation piece, as you would struggle to put much else on over the top.
