This three-season boot from Highlander is not the most comfortable from the box, but any harshness, due mainly to lack of padding, quickly fades after a few steps, a sure sign of comfort. They are quite narrow though, and need careful lacing to get right. They lack any real midsole stiffness and are therefore definitely better suited to easier, low-level walking, rather than big days in the hills. They’re a nice light boot though, and the traditional good looks are ideal for the kind of walking it’s designed for. The Sympatex lining keeps the water out, and the deep lugged sole works well on soft grass and mud.
Verdict: An inexpensive waterproof walking boot that is comfortable and supportive and best suited to easier lower level walking. Its traditional good looks and lower than average weight will no doubt make it very popular.
