Columbia Wanoka

This sandal has lots of great features and looks stylish too, thanks to the suede leather upper. There are two Velcro adjustment points, and the straps are all well-padded on the inside for extra comfort. The foot is well-protected for a sandal, as there’s extensive suede leather down the inside and outside. Underfoot you get an anti-odour footbed, to help keep the pong away. The sole unit is a good, stiff design that should be fine on quite rough terrain. Also the lug pattern is reasonably aggressive to keep you moving across a muddy campsite. Unusually there’s a small lip around the toe to further protect the feet.
The suede leather straps won’t be as fast-drying as synthetic options, so this isn’t ideal for river crossings. The main drawback of this sandal though is that there’s no heel adjustment, so you need to make sure they fit you properly before buying.

Verdict: A good sandal if you don’t need a faster-drying strap system and find the two-point adjustment provides the required fit for your feet.
