With this 4-season boot you get a thick leather opper and a Gore-Tex waterproof lining plus a rubber rand which all adds up to a very durable design. The ankle cuff is a notch lower than most and it also gets an articulated design which all adds up to good ankle flex when walking. You get a double tongue design which makes the laces really comfortable too. Underfoot there is a reasonably aggressive sole unit that offers good stiffness. There’s also good cushioning to make hard ground comfortable. On the foot the boot feels excellent and offers a generally comfortable feel when walking. This is a seriously light boot for the performance too. But the forefoot area and toe are narrower than most and the general walking action is not quite as easy as the best. The lug pattern on the sole is also little shallow compared to some too. In general the boot is probably slightly better suited to glacier travel and mountaineering rather than pure winter walking.
