A favourite of recent Trail trekking pole reviews, the Supertrekker does most of what most walkers want at a competitive price. So while being lower in price than the best poles here it also benefits from an exceptionally low weight and a very compact size, making it ideal for stowing on your rucksack when it is not required during winter ascents and scrambles. It also comes with summer and snow baskets, and it features an anti-shock device that can be turned on or off, so it suits everyone’s needs! You also get a comfortably padded handle and hand loop. The hand loop is also easy to adjust. Best of all though is the textured finish on the shafts that allows the poles to be adjusted far more easily than most with wet or cold hands. It is also that rare beast – an outdoor product that is made in the UK! But other poles have their advantages, particularly if you want to spend less money or want the absolute best performance. Some poles are lighter too, and the best have tilted handles for a more ergonomically efficient design. But if you want a good all-rounder, this pole is hard to beat.
