The lightest poles on test by far and with a unique design. They flick out in the same way as an avalanche probe, held together by an internal cord. This means that they pack down much smaller than any others on test and yet they extend out to length at least as quickly as a regular pole. The length isn’t adjustable, though, and you do have to find the correct size for your height when purchasing. The handgrip does extend down the shaft some way, adding usefulness when climbing up steep sections. In use they do feel very lightweight, but support weight well enough, despite the fact that they can blow around a bit in strong winds.
