Some people have too much time on their hands. And too much desire to take an ironing board up a mountain.
Heres what happened when the more bonkers contingent of Dundee Mountain Club set off into the heart of the Cairngorms to reach the highest loch in the UK, armed with two sails, a surfboard and an ironing board.
Extreme ironing is a bizarre sport in which people take an ironing board to a remote location and then, well, iron items of clothing. After lugging their unusual load from Linn of Dee to Loch Etchachan, the Dundee Mountain Club went windsurfing and got in a bit of ironing at the same time.
Loch Etchachan is situated in the Cairngorm mountains and sits at 927 meters above sea level. Members of the club, Pete Scott and Nicolas Duplouy faced the bitter waters as 11 supportive members of the club looked on.
