The Active 10 Plus hasn’t changed for the last few years, so it’s starting to look a little dated in comparison with some other models. But it’s still a great performer, with a huge screen and easy-to-use buttons rather than a fiddly touchscreen. The compass page is excellent, and the rechargeable lithium battery holds its charge well enough to complete a big day-walk with plenty of button-pressing. Owners get access to SatMap’s online planning tool, alleviating the need to splash out on mapping software, but the data transfer between the computer and the unit is petty clunky in comparison to some.
