Memory-Map is best known for its mapping software, but the brand also makes hand-held GPS receivers – and the Android GPS TX3 Phone (engineered by Seals Technologies) is its latest addition. It features a touch-screen menu with 3G phone, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capability, plus compass, barometer and a 5MP camera. It comes loaded with Memory-Map mapping software where the licence extends to five additional devices, including your computer. You’ll need to add the OS mapping of choice at extra cost or pay £329 and get the device bundled with OS 1:50,000 mapping covering all of Great Britain, which is great value. The Memory-Map Android GPS TX3 Phone is rugged and more waterproof than many devices, and is ideal for working between computers and Memory-Map’s Trailzilla website for route planning and sharing.
