Lowe Alpine Alpine Mitt GTX

Made from top quality materials, this mitt also benefits from very useful features. It’s based around a precurved shell mitt with leather reinforced palm with a nose wipe on the thumb. A webbing buckle adjuster at the wrist and a drawcord at the cuff provide vital control, while a security cord is also provided. Inside you get a removable mitt so you can dry the shell rapidly. Also this mitt could just about be used on its own in cold, still conditions. But the inner mitt is not as good as others when used alone. The wrist webbing adjuster is thinner than most, which you may or may not like. The biggest drawback is probably the price tag though, which is, I suspect, in part down to the use of Gore-Tex XCR rather than standard Gore-Tex (this has pulled this down from third to fourth place).

Verdict Buy it if you want an excellent mitt with a good removable mitt liner and have a bank balance that can handle the price tag.
