Rohan Axiom II

This waterproof jacket from Rohan is not a great fit, as the arms are too short and the body too long. The easily adjustable hood is excellent though – very deep with a good peak – as is the soft, flexible fabric. There’s also plenty of adjustment at the cuffs and hem to increase or reduce ventilation. The Axiom does a great job of keeping the rain out. The Breakthrough fabric is breathable enough and also easy to move around in. It has a full mesh lining and a useful choice of pockets, including one that will take an OS map. However, the handwarmer pockets are a little low for easy access with a rucksack.

Verdict: A good looking offering from Rohan with an excellent hood that manages to stay fairly lightweight even with a full mesh lining. The longer cut will have its fans too.
