This lightweight waterproof jacket from Patagonia is a little too loose overall, but the elasticated cuffs are superb, meaning you can roll the sleeves up with ease. The deep hood and high collar are also good, but a stiffer peak and larger chin guard would be an improvment. Waterproof and very lightweight, thanks to welded seams. The large venting chest pockets are good, although the zips are a bit fiddly. Pit zips seem unnecessary alongside the pocket vents and the hood is tricky to adjust.
Verdict: Welded seam technology offers waterproofing at a very light weight. Plenty of venting too, but the zips and pockets are fiddly and the lightweight design cuts a few corners on comfort.
