This waterproof jacket from Nike isn’t a bad fit in the body, but is rather long in the sleeves. It’s wonderfully comfortable to wear though, due in no small part to the fleecy lining, which also makes it feel warm. However, the hood is quite small, so do check this before buying. Designed more for skiing than walking, the Northway has a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles, which make it quite bulky and heavy. It’s also very warm, even with the two decent sized vents on the chest open. It does keep the weather out though, and would certainly do a reasonable job for winter walking, or for those who like to keep wrapped up when out in the hills.
Verdict: A good buy if you’re looking for a jacket that will work for skiing and walking, or even if you want a dedicated winter coat. Too hot, heavy and complicated for year-round UK hill walking though.
