This lightweight waterproof jacket from Mountain Equipment is a loose fit, although the drawcord at the waist helps pull it in. It’s let down by a loose, flimsy collar which, without a fleece chin guard, feels quite scratchy against the skin. The hood is a good size and adjusts easily, although the peak obstructs your vision. However, with no pit zips or venting pockets, it gets quite hot on the hill.
Verdict: A lightweight, breathable jacket with large pockets and a good hood. The light weight comes at a price though – the Paclite fabric rustles a lot and, with no venting, you may get quite warm.
