Montane Superfly XT 2008

A very popular modern classic winter jacket, the Montane Superfly XT benefits from using eVent waterproof and breathable fabric and having a great set of features. The fabric feels robust and gets some splashes of reflective trim for night action. The main zip gets a double stormflap unlike many other jackets here, which makes it better at keeping out the worst of the rain. The chest pockets and pit zips also get single stormflaps to keep the rain at bay. There are four massive pockets on the chest that are ideal for winter action with a rucksack or harness and you get zipped side vents too for extra venting. The hood has a great wired peak and very good movement and fit on the head. A superb all-round mountain jacket. But some jackets are a little longer than the Montane Superfly XT while others have longer side vents so you can cool down without removing the jacket. The jacket is not available in a women’s fit, sadly. These are the main drawbacks, so not a lot to complain about.
