An incredibly lightweight waterproof, weighing in at a cool 180g (size 12). The Pertex Shield fabric is very light and easy to move in, although it does feel a little on the flimsy side and is fairly noisy, too. It will withstand a good beating from the rain, though, and its waterproofness is helped by a decent storm flap hidden behind the zip. But the best thing about this jacket is that you get a full-on hood with plenty of adjustment, a stiff peak, and a high, fleece-lined collar so that you can really tuck your face away in a storm. True to its minimalist design, it doesn’t have any handwarmer pockets; just one extra large Napoleon pocket on the chest that will take an Ordnance Survey map.
