Marmot Troll Wall 2008

The Marmot Troll Wall is a new jacket that is perfectly designed for the more adventurous UK mountain walker who wants one jacket that does it all. Most importantly it is made from Gore-Tex Pro Shell, so it is top of the league for waterproofness and breathability. It is also reasonably lightweight. Best of all though you get a proper hood with a stiff peak plus stunning fit and movement so you have great protection in all weathers. Two cavernous chest pockets are ideal for stashing gear or keeping your hands warm and dry. You get an inside pocket too and of course great movement in the sleeves. There are pit zips too for extra venting and the pockets are laser drilled to improve airflow without opening the floodgates to the rain. For winter action you get a snowskirt, which can be zipped out to save weight and bulk.  But a third external chest pocket may be useful on the Marmot Troll Wall; while, as with many other jackets, some more length in the body would be useful. There are lighter jackets and lower-priced options too. A double front stormflap as well as external pocket stormflaps may be an advantage in really wet weather.
