Marmot Cloudlight

This lightweight waterproof jacket from Marmot is a good fit, with a nice range of movement in the arms. The soft, rustle-free stretch fabric is good, but the waist drawcord seems an unnecessary extra. It has an exceptionally high collar, which isn’t as comfy as the best, but with the deep rollaway hood gives excellent protection in bad weather. It flaps around annoyingly when not in use, though. Venting pockets rather than pit zips would be good, too.

Verdict: The Cloudlight offers superb protection without hindering movement. The soft, rustle-free fabric is very durable, has a nice modern design and comes in some great colours. The hood/collar may annoy some though.
