Haglöfs Spitz

This winter jacket is made from Gore Pro Shell, one of the best waterproof and breathable fabrics. The big story here though is the low weight of only 490g.To achieve that weight, the jacket not only uses great fabric but also the features are reduced to the essentials. So you get a front zip and a couple of chest-mounted Napoleon pockets. In case you overpower the breathability of the fabric there are long pit zips for venting. The hood gets a very large stiffened peak that fits very well, thanks to volume adjusters and face drawcords. The jacket is shorter than most, which will suit some mountaineers, and they’ll also like the excellent movement in the sleeves that prevent riding up of the hem or cuffs. So this is definitely a very good lightweight jacket. But the fabric is very thin and supple, so like some other jackets it may feel a little colder in driving winter storms as trapped air gets squeezed out. Also, the Napoleon pockets do not allow the wearer to easily warm their hands. That short body length is also a drawback, particularly as the back is not scooped at all.
