This top has a semi-athletic fit to it, with long arms and a reasonably tight torso, although there’s a little more room than the most sporty of jackets. The lightweight fabric has a ripstop construction making is pretty durable, although it is a bit noisy. The hood was even more frustrating, never really pulling tight around the face, and the peak crumpled as it was tightened. In windy conditions, it was better to do without it. The AQ 2.5 fabric is decent enough for general use, although when out on particularly cold and wet days, there was a huge amount of condensation build-up on the inside and it did quickly become overwhelmed by the conditions. There are pit zips to introduce some air circulation around the jacket, and Berghaus has thoughtfully labelled them so you know what they’re for.
