Mountain Equipment Tupilak (2014)

The Mountain Equipment Tupilaks are built to take you where other trousers may not survive, thanks to the use of Gore-Tex Pro bonded to 80 denier and 40 denier nylon fabric. So you get top waterproofness and breathability as well as durability to withstand abrasion from rock and ice as well as ice axes, crampons, harnesses and ice screws. The trousers have a very high waist to keep your midriff well-protected while braces help keep them up. There are no pockets, but there is a zip fly. Full-length side zips allow them to fit easily over crampons and there’s a removeable gaiter inside the ankle cuff, while a pull-aside seat design allows easier toileting! If you’re out in the snow regularly and need ultimate protection, then the Tupilaks set the bar pretty high for situations when compromise isn’t an option.
