The fabric used in these waterproof overtrousers has a far higher waterproof rating than others we looked at, so they should stay waterproof for longer. There is a mesh lining too, which aids condensation control and comfort. You get 75cm side zips, and these trousers fit easily – even over my size 11 boots. The zips have an external stormflap to keep the rain out too, and they can be vented from the top if you overheat. The cuff gets a choice of two press stud adjustments to prevent the material from flapping. The waist is elasticated but also gets a belt. There is a rear zipped pocket too. These trousers feel very durable and the fit is superb and better than most, making them ideal for hill-walking. Others are lower in price and lighter of course, but few match these for features. These are hard to fault for hill-walking.
