Very popular, well-established walking trousers that benefit from a huge range of sizes and three leg lengths. The well-proven Schoeller four-way stretch material is treated to keep off light rain. The trouser is very comfortable and the fabric is softer on the skin than some lower-priced options. The knees are articulated and the cut is neat, tidy and practical. The ankle cuff and seat get a high abrasion layer, which is welcome for scrambling. The ankle cuff also has a zipped bellow, so you can widen the fit for winter boots; and there is also a Velcro adjuster to tidy the ankle cuff when climbing. The waist is fairly standard with elastication and zipped fly. You get four zipped pockets and those at the waist take an OS map. But not a lot wrong here unless you cannot afford the price tag. The reinforced panels are arguably not very attractive. I’d prefer the leg pocket to have been map-sized, but these are still a notch better overall than similar trousers in my view.
