These women’s walking trousers are, first and foremost, technical trousers. The waist is elasticated, extra adjustment is provided by a drawcord and there is also a button fly. The pockets are all zipped and a really good size – two hip and one back. The ankle cuff can also be expanded using a zip which will give some adjustment. The fabric stretches in two directions and this coupled with an articulated knee gives good movement. The narrower leg also lends itself well to scrambling and climbing activities. But the button fly is not very user-friendly, and the tie waist adjustment is a little crude. The external fly zip also adds a dated feel to the design. The zip adjustment for the trouser cuff was also limiting. There is expansion but no retraction – this may be redeemed by the narrower design, however.
