These walking trousers bridge the gap between trousers and tights – which should make them ideal for climbers and mountaineers as well as mountain walkers and scramblers. They use a four-way stretch fabric that is elasticated at the waist with a drawcord adjuster and a zip fly. The knees are articulated and the ankle is zipped with a gusset, so it can be worn unzipped if preferred, or worn neat and close when climbing. The two hip and one thigh pocket are all zipped, and the thigh pockets are OS map-sized. These are great trousers that will be preferred by those who want a more athletic style. They are a very good option if you are on a tighter budget. But some may prefer a looser style, particularly for more general walking and backpacking. Higher-priced trousers have the advantage of added reinforcement too. The waist is drawcorded rather than belted, which some people may not find desirable, even though it works well enough.
