These are very useful walking trousers. They are made from four-way stretch fabric and have articulated knees and a diamond crotch panel, making them very comfortable as soon as you put them on. The waist is elasticated with a zip fly and you get belt loops too. The ankle gets a drawcord adjuster to nip it in a little when climbing. There are three zipped pockets and the leg pocket is map-sized, so they’re ideal for walkers wearing big rucksacks that would block access to hip pockets. Use these for walking and they should be ideal for short and long tramps across the moors, hills and mountains. The price is also good for what you are getting. But the fabric feels slightly rougher on the skin than the higher-priced options. Some trousers also get bigger pockets and nice little extra features like reinforcement, leg vents or ankle zips. But I suspect most weekend walkers will find these drawbacks of minimal concern.
