Haglöfs Ibex Q Pant

A very comfortable, bombproof pair of women’s walking trousers. They are straightforward and get the job done well, with no fuss. The waist is tricot-lined for comfort and has the added adjustability of a belt. There is a good selection of usefully sized pockets (two hip, one back and one thigh). More importantly, they all have zipped closures to keep things secure. The ankle cuff is neat, with adjustability being provided by a drawcord. The fabric inspires confidence as it feels tough and keeps out the wind effectively. It also has plenty of stretch in both directions and this, added to a good cut, results in excellent freedom of movement. To top it off, you get a real sense of pleasure in the design and finish of these trousers, as they feel like a well-polished and perfected product rather than something that needs a little more attention to detail. They also boast a competitive price and therefore offer excellent value for money. But the only adjustment at the waist comes from a belt. Similarly the only ventilation comes from opening the mesh-lined pockets and this, combined with the thicker and wind-resistant fabric, may limit their use to cooler days.
