The North Face Blue Kazoo

This is an aesthetically pleasing 3-season down sleeping bag at a keen price. It’s got all the trimmings that make up a good all-rounder. The trapezoid baffle construction means the down is arranged to give the best warmth. An extra baffle runs down the zip to protect against draughts, and the shoulder baffle is contoured to fit the neck. There is a pocket to keep small items safe, glow-in-the-dark zip pulls and a compression stuffsack. Once you are all zipped in, the hood can be drawn in to give further protection from the cold, and you can appreciate the ergonomically contoured foot box. This bag is good fun, with good features. But it’s highly misleading that the only temperature quoted on the bag (-10 deg C) is the extreme rating, at which frostbite is possible, rather than the lower comfort limit of -4 dec C. It’s also pretty heavy given its temp ratings and lower fill power. There are bags that do it better.
