A perfect example of how a small pack can do great things. This tiny 18L pack is snug, secure and flawlessly stable, even on a boulder-hoppy hike in Snowdonia. The mesh back panel sits flush to your back, but flexes with you and has huge air pores which stop your back feeling too sweaty. The shoulder straps are highly breathable too. The hip-belt is slightly odd, though, as the buckle sits over on the left-hand side. The main compartment only takes a waterproof, a windproof and some lunch, but if that’s all you need, then so is the Miwok. And if you really want extra storage, there’s the huge, stretchy and zip-expandable front flap. I’m not a big fan of these as they are unsecure and mess up the weight distribution, but for just stashing a map or extra layer, it works. And if you really want more storage, the Miwok range also has a 24L version.
Extra pockets: 4 (top, belt x2, open flap)

A fine low-capacity pack for walkers who hate carrying excess weight.
