A virtually flawless rucksack which is a pleasure to wear thanks to some hugely supportive hip-fins that are so sturdy, they almost massage your lower back as you walk. Packing is a little tricky if you’ve put in a hydration system, but it still takes a lot of filling. A curved aluminium frame makes it very light and the bottom is toughened to resist abrasion. It stays absolutely stable and very cool on the go, and resists rain even before you put the rain cover on. A downside is the dark interior – it can be hard to find what you’re looking for. And for the very high price you might expect a height-adjustable harness, but with fine-tuning via the very substantial straps, it can be tailored perfectly.
