inov-8 has dominated the ‘fast and light’ market recently, due to its practice of stripping out weight from footwear. The Terroc 330 (men’s)/308 (women’s) has been around in various guises for some years and the latest version sees the mesh upper being replaced by a synthetic non-mesh material, which will keep more water out but won’t be as breathable. The inov-8 Terroc 330/308 has never had a waterproof lining, and so this new upper makes it more water-resistant than ever before, which you may view as a benefit. The shoe now has a sportier look, but the general performance remains unchallenged as the Terroc retains its very aggressive outsole pattern of studs to provide excellent grip in mud and on looser gritty terrain. There is good cushioning underfoot too, to ensure comfort on harder surfaces from tarmac to rock. The upper has decent support at the heel and some reinforcement at the toe, but it still offers less protection than higher-priced, heavier shoes. The inov-8 Terroc 330/308 is ideal for travel and outdoor activities, particularly fast and light action. It’s not as running-orientated as other inov-8 shoes, but you could run in it if you wanted.
Upper material synthetic
Waterproof lining none
Sole unit Terroc
Men’s sizes 7-12 (Terroc 330)
Women’s sizes 3.5-8.5 (Terroc 308)
Weight 680g (pair, size 8)
The inov-8 Terroc 330/308 is an ideal lightweight shoe for travel, walking and easier runs; but it gives less support and protection than others, while more climbing-orientated shoes are better for scrambling.
